We did a feature on graffiti a couple weeks ago here at the ‘ground. Having got wind of this, a neighbor, Frank Levangie, forwarded me a link to some photographs he'd taken of graffiti art and artists at the nearby Venice Public Art Walls (known as the "pits" until recently). A day or two later, he stopped me in the walk to ask if I'd checked out the pics. I hadn't (I'm a slacker), but I promised I'd get on it.
So I got on it. Since I'd seen Frank walking around with his camera before, I figured I'd find a few decent snaps. Instead, I found a veritable virtual compendium of awesome graffiti art. My pleasant surprise was made all the more pleasant by the fact that I would never have pegged Frank for a graff-lover! When I kidded him about it, he chided me for pre-judging people. It was a chide well taken.
Meet Frank, an unlikely graffiti aficionado, and hear him wax poetic in this ultra special sauce exclusive Underground video. To see some of Frank's graff photos check him out on Flickr (then put up your own cool pics on Underground's Flickr group). If you still want more, you'll find extensive Frank photo galleries at imageevent.com. And tell 'em Underground sent you. I guess, and Frank.
